Photometry – is the measurement of optical radiation as it is perceived by the human eye under normal illumination with a 2° field of view.
The CIE photopic curve, shown below, is an international standard for the color response of the average human eye. By definition, footcandles, footlamberts, lux, and Cd/m2 are based on a detector having a color response identical to the CIE photopic curve
